I’m back on my game.

I have found that staying off food almost completely actually kills my appetite. So to kick off I’m eating a bare minimum.

Breakfast is just coffee and a whole wheat sandwich. Lunch is fruit juice. And dinner is nothing at all if I can help it.

A perfect mouthful of sushi to me is a sushi roll dipped in soy sauce, with a dab of wasabi and a piece pickled ginger on top.

The taste sensation is inexplicable in mere words. Like good sex.

A bad tooth infection has screwed my goal for January. Antibiotics and painkillers dont really allow dieting since I need to eat carbs in order to combat gastritis.

Initial loss of 3 kilos was maintained but the next 2 were not possible. Oh well.

More hard work in Feb if only this stupid  infection would go away.

3 kilos down.

2 more to go before January ends.

I was starting to slip up and feel less motivated so I looked for some inspiration.

And I found this story.

This girl lost 50lb in just 6 months.  Surely I can lose half of it.

even the strongest of us need a break. So I’m having rice and curry for lunch. Little indulgences are good right?

Ok so this is one cow who enjoys her beef, chicken, lamb and pork. Oh and dont even get me started on the seafood!

But I’m seriously contemplating going veg maybe twice a week.

Most practical seems two weekdays where food is comparatively less enjoyed anyway.

I doubt that it would have any effect on my weight loss. But like I said, eating healthier and cleaner is also one of the objectives.

Has anyone tried this I wonder. Can you stick to it long enough if you dont cut the meat out altogether?

So I figured I’d start with eating fresh, unprocessed and mostly raw stuff.

Its hard for someone like me who has always stoically refused to eat salad. Especially Sri lankan salads that are nothing but watery cucumber cubes and squashed tomatoes drowning in a garden of drippy lettuce. Yuck.

But I also understand that if this diet is going to work I cant keep stir-frying everything.

So heres what I did.

Step 1 – Cleared out one whole shelf in the fridge just for myself.

Step 2 – Went shopping for healthy but interesting salad ingredients

Step 3 – Filled this shelf with everything from green apples to pineapples to onions and peppers. Boiled chicken, dressings, cilantro, oranges etc.

Everything is kept washed and things like onions are chopped up for the sake of convenience. So when I come home at night, all I have to do is mix n match.

Yesterday I had pan roasted chicken with cilantro and vinaigrette dressing.

Today I made chicken, pineapple & onion salad. Yum.

I dont know if its the personal effort or what but even in tiny portions these salads are delicious and strangely satisfying.

Is that too much to gun for?

I realize that the loss will slow down as I go. But I figured if the initial weight loss was fast enough I could still catch up even in the slump of the last weeks.

To break it down;

By end of Jan (three weeks + 2 days) – drop 5

End of Feb – drop 3

March – drop 2

Wish me luck people!

I was the girl who could eat anything and not gain an ounce. I was so enviably skinny that they called me a cow.

But oh how the mighty have fallen and now I’m just a cow without the skinny.

So this here is my mission to bring skinny back!
